We thank all for their faithful and generous support of Saints Peter and Paul Church and want to take this opportunity to inform you of the Church’s plan to acquire the property at 771 Amana Street. Through prayer and discernment, and with the guidance and support of His Excellency Larry Silva and our Diocesan staff, we are moving closer to our desire to acquire the neighboring property, an opportunity to expand faith formation and serve our growing parish.
Saints Peter and Paul has therefore embarked on a capital campaign to raise $3.25 million to help finance the purchase. The Quiet Phase of the campaign was launched in August 2019 to secure leadership and major gifts needed to confirm with His Excellency that we will be successful in raising the required funds.
Now, the church is making this appeal to all members, inviting all to make a generous gift to support the campaign. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our parish – one we should support with heartfelt commitment.
For half a century, Saints Peter and Paul has provided a firm foundation in our community, building a faithful community of believers. The vision, set in place decades earlier by Bishop Scanlan, was accomplished with faith, prayer and the hard work of many parishioners. As Bishop Scanlan stated at the Church’s dedication 50 year’s ago – “As Ala Moana is the heart of the new Honolulu, so Saints Peter and Paul is its soul.”
