We are excited to announce a new enrichment program here at Sts. Peter and Paul Church called the Liturgy of the Word for Children. Young children of elementary age will have the opportunity to hear scripture readings proclaimed and explained at their level. All children in this age group are welcome to participate; no registration is required.
The Children's Liturgy of the Word aims to introduce children to important aspects of God's message by:
Helping them understand the Word of God
Helping them receive God's Word in their hearts and respond to it in their family life and elsewhere
Helping them experience God's Word through storytelling, art, music, and prayer
At designated Masses with Children's Liturgy of the Word, Father will invite the children to gather around the altar for a blessing. The children will proceed to a chapel-like room in the courtyard where they will hear the Word of God through prayers, song, and readings that are simplified for children to understand and enjoy. Afterwards, the children will rejoin their families during the offertory.
Our first Liturgy of the Word for Children will be on Sunday, November 29, 2015.
