Thirtieth Sunday In Ordinary Time • Imitating Christ
Greetings from the Pastor, Week of October 26, 2008
Today we gather together to celebrate the Mass for the Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Liturgical year is quickly coming to an end and the most important commands from God are coming to us. When the scholar of the law tested Jesus by asking, “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” Jesus said to the scholar, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all

Prayer for our Leaders
Father, you guide everything in wisdom and love.Accept the prayers we offer for our nation; by thewisdom of our leaders and integrity of our citizens, may harmony and justice be secured and may there be lasting prosperity and peace.
The company of saints
In the blest fellowship of saintsIs wisdom, safety and delightAnd when my heart declines and faintsIt’s raised by their heat and light.
The best guidance
What gentle life affirming hope we gain by reading the lives of those blessed souls that have passed before us. When we are troubled, they comfort us, when we are weary they exhort us. If we stumble they admonish us and when we shirk they lovingly rebuke us. What better guidance can one seek for living a Christian life?
Filling out God’s ballot
Christians are very aware of being God’s hands here on earth, but what about being His voice? For those of us blessed enough to live in a democracy, each time we vote we become God’s voice. Would He agree with the choices we cast? This year consider your election issues prayerfully, examining your choices as if you were filling out a ballot for God - because you are.

Twenty-Ninth Sunday In Ordinary Time • To Caesar Or To God?

Today we gather together to celebrate the Mass for the Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Responsorial Psalm sets the pace for not only this Sunday, but all the days of our lives, “Give the Lord Glory and Honor” is what we say or sing after each verse of the Psalm. This response should be part of our daily life. Each day will be blessed and our minds and hearts will center on where we put

The first link in a chain of blessing
There is no act too trifling to be made by God the first link in a chain of blessing. Whether some small action or thought drops unintended or is done with purpose and intent, the good that issues is from God’s hand and the blessing’s size and importance are chosen by Him.

Twenty-Seventh Sunday In Ordinary Time • Staying Reasonably Sane
Greetings from the Pastor, Week of October 5, 2008
Today as we move into the month of October, we find ourselves celebrating the month in honor of devotion to the Blessed Mother. If we are asked to pray for a special intention then our choice is always either an Our Father or a Hail Mary and more often or not our choice is the Hail Mary. When we think of devotion to Mary most often we think of the various times Mary has come to earth in behalf of
