Week of November 28, 2011

Today we gather together to celebrate the Mass for the First Sunday of Advent. It is hard to
believe that we have started a new Liturgical year. The first reading today begins our celebration of the Advent Season. This will be our chance to prepare for our Christmas celebration. Isaiah stresses in the first reading the need we have for repentance. There are certain things we must do to prepare ourselves for the Christmas celebration. The Church in her wisdom gives us a four week preparation time. We start again as it were with our relationship upper most in our mind.

Week of November 20, 2011

Today we gather together to celebrate the Mass for the Feast of Christ the King. It is the last Sunday of this particular liturgical year. We put a period on the year ending and it is good for us to ask the question, “Am I a better Catholic at the end of this particular liturgical year than I was last year?”

Week of November 13, 2011

Today we gather together to celebrate the Mass for the Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time. We find ourselves in the time of waiting. This waiting needs to find us alert. We know what we have to do and we know the way to do it, upper-most always in our minds is what does God ask us to do?

Week of November 6, 2011

Today we gather together to celebrate the Mass for the Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary
Time. The year is quickly sliding away. The new liturgical year will be upon us before we know it. I
am being kept busy as I look at all we have to do both this month and the next. Soon Advent will be upon us and then Christmas will be here before we know it. Makes me stop and wonder where the year has gone.
