Greetings from the Pastor

Body & Blood Of Christ:
Views From The Table

Today we gather together to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi (The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ) and tonight our Bishop, Larry Silva will be here at the 6 p.m. Mass to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for this year’s class. For us as a Parish it is an honor for the Bishop to come here. The confirmandi get an added sense of how important Confirmation is.

It is not a graduation that says, “No more Mass,” but it is a sign that we have reached an age when we can take on new responsibilities in our relationship with God.

Our young people here have been well-trained and they are ready to assume more responsibility in how they serve God. Their parents have an will continue to be influences in their lives. After all they have had a major impact in their religious education.

Another influence has been the teachers they have had over the years. They are the ones who have been trained in Religious Education and their generous volunteering has been such a help to our Parish.
We thank you for your generous Thank You wishes you had for Msgr. Romeo last Sunday. I know he appreciated your kindness to him. We are awaiting his successor and I know you will greet him in your usual manner. His name is Fr. Sidney Fernandez and he comes to us from Kahuku on the North Shore and is anxious to get started here. We will try to meet his needs and he will quickly settle in. Be sure to greet him after the first Mass he says when you are in attendance.

After the bulletin went to press last week the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup, signifying Hockey Supremacy. The last time they won it was a four Banger in Boston because the Celtics, the Patriots and the Red Sox all were champions that year. All I hope for is a repeat!

Tomorrow is my Twin brother’s birthday, so you know what that means for me! Every year since 1968 I have said the mass for my brother, my mother, and me. This year will be no exception.
